The program is devoted to training a new generation of diverse, relentless and inspired organizers across the nation, said House Minority Leader Representative Nancy Pelosi this week in a note to party leaders.

The DCCC is the official campaign arm of the Democrats in the House of Representatives. Its principal mission is to support Democratic House candidates.

Pelosi commented on a couple of major events that happened this week. She said, ”On Monday, Republican Congressman Michael Grimm, who infamously threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony, surrendered to the FBI. The case includes allegations that Grimm denied his health food store workers a proper wage.”
“On Tuesday, LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was banned from the NBA for his reprehensible, racist rant,” she said.

“These are two very different stories -- but they both remind me of the powerful quote from Frederick Douglass: ‘Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.’ Whether it was those workers demanding a fair day's pay from Mr. Grimm, or a nation demanding that Mr. Sterling be removed, change happens -- but only when we demand it,” Pelosi said.

Minnesota DFL powerhouse, Dr. Josie R. Johnson, said, “The Clipper experience tells us "WE" can have influence if we show strength and unity!”
