congressman-keith-ellisons-official-photo-copyWASHINGTON –Rep. Keith Ellison (MN-05) will host an open forum Wednesday, April 3, 2012, 7:00 PM CST at the University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center (UROC) 2001 Plymouth Ave, N Minneapolis, MN 55411 on United States drone policy and ways to improve it.

Ellison has been a leading advocate for Congressional oversight of drones. Ellison wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post in January calling on Congress to establish a legal framework for drone use based on the Geneva Conventions.

This month, he requested that the White House declassify its legal justification for drone use. He will be joined by Robert Naiman, Policy Director of Just Foreign Policy and John Radsan, the Founder and Director of the National Security Forum at the William Mitchell School of Law.
