Minneapolis stroke survivor is 1 of 13 volunteers honored nationally by American Heart & Stroke Association

Wesley Moses, of Minneapolis, was one of 13 volunteers from around the country honored at the American Heart & Stroke Association’s annual Power To End Stroke – Power Awards in Atlanta on June 12.

On May 26, 2007, at the age of 48, Moses woke up with a numb left hand and a limp when he walked. He didn’t realize he had a stroke in his sleep.

President Barack Obama held another Town Hall meeting on health care reform Wednesday, and Minnesota supporters of reform want Congress to listen. Eliot Seide, executive director of Minnesota AFSCME Council 5, says health care premiums have increased 90 percent in eight years, meaning 1 million Minnesotans pay more than 10 percent of their income on health care.
