Senator Champion gives kids tour of CapitolRecently at the Capitol, Senator Bobby Joe Champion (DFL – Minneapolis) gave students from Banaadir Academy a tour of the building. The Banaadir Academy is a charter school in Minneapolis that promotes “a safe, caring environment for diverse students.” When Sen. Champion showed the kids the basement in the Capitol, one of them asked, “Can you drive cars through the tunnel?”

MPS wants students back

A Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) program that helps former and current students obtain their high school diploma is reaching out to those who attended MPS between 2000 and 2012 and need to pass one or more state tests to graduate high school.

BSM crowns Grand Knight for Snowball Dance

BSM crowns Grand Knight for Snowball DanceDuring a coronation ceremony on Monday, January 28 at Benilde-St. Margaret, senior Jonathan Sutton was chosen by his peers to serve as the 2013 Grand Knight. Jonathan and his date, Marielle Arostegui, reigned over the Snowball Dance, a “girl-ask-guy” formal dance, which was held, Saturday, February 1. Other Grand Knight candidates included seniors Nolan Ahlm, James Borin, Patrick Graham, Gavin McLain, and Tommy Sprenger. Emcee for coronation was Peter Best.
