MPS expands Spring Break Academy: 3,000 students to participate in fun instruction over spring break

After a successful launch in 2014, Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) is expanding its K-8 Spring Break Academy. This year 3,000 students at 25 sites will have the opportunity to focus on core subjects while also participating in enrichment opportunities that make learning exciting.

Graduation rates released on Tuesday, February 24 showed that both Robbinsdale Area Schools comprehensive high schools exceed the state's average while the overall district rate remains consistent with the 2013 rate.

Student Noah Branch named to Minneapolis Board of Education

The Minneapolis Board of Education welcome Noah Branch to the school board as its first student representative.
Branch is a sophomore at Patrick Henry High School and a proud north Minneapolis resident. He is actively involved in City Wide Student Government and The Movement, Patrick Henry's student council. Branch credits The Movement with helping him develop a more critical and conscious lens on the world around him and a passion to address issues and challenge injustices.
Robbinsdale Area Schools teacher among 30 Minnesota Teacher of the Year semifinalists

Sonnesyn Elementary School EL teacher Ann St. Clair is one of 30 semifinalists for this year's Minnesota Teacher of the Year honor. A selection panel of 24 community leaders chose the semifinalists from an initial field of 123 candidates from across the state.
