Minneapolis school district shows positive trends in reading, math, science

Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) continues to see positive trends in MCA results for almost all student subgroups in reading, math and science. One of the more notable academic improvements was among students who participated in last school year's mid-year strategies, an increase of six percentage points. Additionally, student gains in both reading and math at grades five and eight significantly outpaced those at the state level. District-wide math and science results increased one percent, while reading results remained steady.

Preschools and elementary schools across the Twin Cities, most of them located in north Minneapolis, have an immediate need for more than 150 full- and part-time literacy tutors and math tutors for the 2014-15 school year.
