Bike Tour celebrating completion of Mississippi River Trail in Minnesota coming through Saint Paul

Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Superintendent John Anfinson of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MISS NRRA), and the Minnesota Mississippi Parkway Commission (MnMRPC) will welcome a group of 50 cyclists to Saint Paul on Monday August 31, 2015. The cyclists are riding 470 miles of the Mississippi River Trail (MRT) from Lake Itasca State Park to the Iowa border. They are on the inaugural MRT "Headwaters to Hills" tour and are celebrating the completion of the MRT in Minnesota. The MRT runs for 3,000 miles, through 10 states, from the headwaters of the Mississippi River and ending at the Gulf of Mexico. Minnesota is home to over 800 miles of the bikeway.
