Faith leaders challenge legislators to address disparities

On Thursday, April 4, 175 African-American clergy and members of the faith community held a rally at the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda. On the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, they assembled to urge legislators to close racial equity gaps and put the children and families in their communities on a firm foundation.

Weather again delays opening of yard waste collection sites

Three of seven Ramsey County yard waste sites will open Monday, April 15; remaining four sites will open Saturday, April 20.

Due to continued precipitation and colder than normal temperatures, Ramsey County will open three of its seven yard waste sites on Monday, April 15, 2013, and delay opening four of them until Saturday April 20, 2013.

Spring street sweeping begins soon

Weather permitting, an annual rite of spring in Minneapolis begins Tuesday, April 9. That's when Public Works crews will start a comprehensive sweeping of all city streets and alleys to clean up the dirt and grime the melting ice and snow leaves behind. Beginning Monday April 8, drivers should watch for temporary "no parking" signs along these roadways to avoid a ticket and tow.
