NRRC ramping up efforts to engage Northside residences

ishmael-headshothead-shot-huekathy-head-shotIn light of multiple development projects taking place in north Minneapolis including the new light rail, the Northside Residents Redevelopment Council (NRRC) has expanded and hired and executive director and outreach organizers.

Executive Director Ishmael Israel, Transit Outreach Organizer Hue Pham and Neighborhood Outreach Organizer Kathy DeKrey were recently hired.

Israel, a North Minneapolis resident and business owner, received degrees in finance and sociology from Augsburg College and has a background in residential real estate sales, marketing and forecasting centralized in north Minneapolis. Israel has actively participated in NRRC since 1998.

Pham has been a part of the north Minneapolis community since her family first came to the area from Vietnam in 1975. Pham received degrees in accounting, finance and a minor in economics from Augsburg College and has worked on the Hiawatha light rail project.

DeKrey is a recent college graduate from Augsburg College with a triple major in urban studies, environmental studies and political science.
