Seitu Jones: Art and economics

Minneapolis' Artist in Residence, Seitu Jones, and Humphrey Institute Professor Ann Markusen, author of The Artistic Dividend and other works analyzing the "Arts Economy" will discuss how Minneapolis can support artist and neighborhood arts organizations, 6:30-8pm Wednesday, January 16th at Pillsbury House Theatre, 3501 Chicago Av. S. Minneapolis' Artist in Residence, Seitu Jones, and Humphrey Institute Professor Ann Markusen, author of The Artistic Dividend and other works analyzing the "Arts Economy" will discuss how Minneapolis can support artist and neighborhood arts organizations, 6:30-8pm Wednesday, January 16th at Pillsbury House Theatre, 3501 Chicago Av. S.

The event is the first in a series of monthly meetings to examine Arts and Economic Development, focused on independent artists and small arts organizations. The event is free and open to the public. Artists involvement is encouraged.

The event is co-sponsored by Eighth Ward Councilmember Elizabeth Glidden, Pillsbury House Theatre, Center for Independent Artists, Parkway Theater, and the Urban Arts Academy.
