The selection of Whitney West was the culmination of a six month national search process undertaken by a specially created committee of the Board of Directors and an outside search firm that started formally after the departure of NorthPoint's former CEO on June 1. Over 100 candidates applied for the position. Stella's experienced background as an executive, manager and familiarity with the community were among the distinguishing features of her candidacy.
"Stella is an experienced, talented leader who has made crucial and substantial contributions toward NorthPoint's growth and the Board looks forward to working with Stella to create an even greater future for the organization and the community" said Beverly Propes, Board Chair of NorthPoint's Community Board of Directors.
About her selection, Whitney-West said, "I am grateful for the opportunity to work in such a dynamic, innovative organization which aims to improve peoples lives.
