Jasmine Guy directs Robin Givens in “For Colored Girls …”

jasmine_guy(Taylor Media Services) Actress Jasmine Guy has taken on the role of director in a True Colors Theatre production of Ntozake Shange’s play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide when the Rainbow is Enuf.” Guy is directing Robin Givens and Nicole Ari Parker. The production began July 15 at Atlanta’s Southwest Arts Center and runs through August 9.

The play features poetry, dancing and narrative celebrating the struggles of oppresses minority women. Addition information about the play is available online at http://truecolorstheatre.org/. Guy is perhaps best known for her role as “Whitley Gilbert” in the television comedy series “A Different World.”
